This in fact was ... This in fact was The Queen Mothers 90th Birthday Gala, so you could not have had a better star to grace the stage. Not only did Dame Vera get a tremendous ovation, but the ovation for the Queen Mother at the end was overwhelming, it? was edited on TV, but I was lucky enough to be there and it was a very special evening and a terrific cast - real theatre, sadly lacking now.
all of this ... all of this reminds? me of the most wonder ful time I EVER spent.
A magnificent lady, ... A magnificent lady, and a great selection of timeless songs, sung as good as ever. I beleive the sentiment is as strong today as? ever, especially as we still have numerous brave men and women serving all over the World
God bless the ... God bless the British people for their? strength, fortitude and courage when they were fighting the most evil menace in the world at that time.
How? wonderful to ... How? wonderful to have Dame Vera Lynn introduced by Robert Hardy. I am such a fan of his film work and scholarship.
God Bless you and ... God Bless you and your Nan! You did not make me cry, but it was close! This from a way past middle? aged old fart! How great that you put a smile on her face. Good on ya!!!!

PURE CLASS. 5 STARS? PURE CLASS. 5 STARS?
PURE? CLASS. PURE? CLASS.
- I also may add ... - I also may add that we have no one like DVL in the USA (I hope I'm not overlooking any worthy names!)
So we've had to make do with the ultra-patriotic Barbra ("Gimme gimme gimme") Streisand, which is a depressing thought, as you can imagine.?
- Well said, and I ... - Well said, and I thank you for your eloquence.?
i think he means ... i think he means the nostalgia of the War era. When men and women where far away? from each other, lovers, friends and family. People whom could never come back and they never did. Thats quite nostalgic.
This special lady ... This special lady was a bit before my time as I am a life long Bowie and rock fan. However, as a boy all my heroes were from this era, and this wonderful lady has a voice like an angel. Thanks to all the men and women who fought in WW 2 and those who gave there? life so that I could be free. Thank You.
00: 50: "No one ... 00: 50: "No one could recall better for us the nostalgia of those days..."
Who wrote this weirdo script for this poor fellow to? read?
This is NUTS!
"Those days" were in the 1940s. People in 1940s were nostalgic for the 1900s, 10s, 20s, etc.
You can't be nostalgic for the era in which you are currently living.
No one says, "I remember it like it was just yesterday" if the event occurred yesterday!
I remember going to ... I remember going to this with my grandmother - we saved up for 3 years so that my nan, me and my mother could go. you couldnt get the smile of my nans face for a week. She died 6 weeks after we got home.
?
God love you for ... God love you for posting this. God love Vera Lynn, all of us? certainly do!
Oh my, I had not ... Oh my, I had not heard her voice since my early? childhood. My grandmother was from England, living with us during the war. The Brits had Dame Vera Lynn and we had Kate Smith. There was no internet or skype of course, but these songs kept the spirit up. England was being bombed unmercifully and a story I cannot verify says that Dame Lynn was performing one night in London when the hits started to come. "Save Vera Lynn, Churchill can fend for himself." Brilliant video, many thanks.
5 STARS? 5 STARS?
Absoulty birlliant, ... Absoulty birlliant, Dame Vera your a legend, I hope she goes on? forever
Don't think you? ... Don't think you? would want to live in the forties it was a terrible time.

I'm 17, my hairs ... I'm 17, my hairs are standing up on arms...some music has that affect on you. She is fantastic, the whole piece was really well? thought out. Would give so much to live in the 1940's!

Gay marriage backers: NY vote has national impact
NEW YORK — Many obstacles still lie ahead for supporters of same-sex marriage, and eventually they will need Congress or the Supreme Court to embrace their goal. For the moment, though, they are jubilantly channeling the lyrics of “New York, New York.”
Is public opinion on gay marriage ahead of justices?
Courts almost never are at the vanguard of social change. In general, they have required sweeping cultural shifts such as school desegregation only when it was clear that a substantial percentage of Americans supported them. So what does this portend for same-sex marriage litigation, which is likely to end up before the Supreme Court eventually, especially in light of recent federal court rulings in Boston and San Francisco in favor of same-sex marriage?
Ray MacNair: Gay marriage is marriage
I want to support the Tuesday commentary by syndicated columnist Robyn Blumner headlined "Widespread acceptance of gay marriage just a matter of time."
Mark A. Jenkins: Changing marriage is dangerous
Those pushing for a solution to open the door for legalized homosexual marriage should be careful about what they are asking for. If they are going to change the definition of marriage, they should also be looking for ways to bring in polygamy.
